myths & folklore of business – welcome to BULLSHIT VALLEY.

LEARN The Best Business Myths … money can buy AND BUILD ON.

In the business world, whether you are a conglomerate or an small business owner, you will eventually cross the wasteland of Bullshit Valley. It begins as a beautiful view, as one aspires to climb to the top of the hill and as they continue to climb, the stench becomes numbing and accepted that this is the environmental conditions of the hill. After all, does one leave and begin again on another hill or retreat completely just to find another valley stinks equally as bad?

The point is simple. Business practices and business at large is fueled by many clichés, often recited by those who wish to sound important, impacting and even plagiarize as their own, as originals. Regardless of where they originate, these types of statements have created the business machine and all the moving parts for those coming into business to get a better understanding of the landscape. Let us provide some in-site into these staple statements/quotes and provide my view and opinion for the same. Feel free to make your own opinion, as I do encourage the same.

BUSINESS MYTH #1
“THE ONUS IS ON THE INDIVIDUAL TO CREATE A WORK-LIFE BALANCE.”
FALSE. This is complete non-sense. Companies are in business to generate a return. If the employee is not comfortable in the environment, there are others who will take the job. No employee can control being asked to do over-time, extra shifts. Nor can one be responsible for managements displeasure when not a “team player”. The simple fact, to shine you must assist the company, goods for services (you get paid to do a job, don’t do it, why should the company pay you for time-pass). By taking a positive outlook, assisting the company puts you on managements radar, then the company will begin to look after you. Should you choose not assist the company, the company may begin to evaluate your lack of performance, identify reasons to replace you and remove you, legally of course. Understand, there is no life-work balance. Work ALWAYS wins if you want to get ahead!
If you are an entrepreneur, there is no longer a life, any balance and ONLY work should you wish to make your business a success and beat your competition in the marketplace.
